Seen and Not Heard

A 10.5 Metre roll of acetate printed with every frame of a film of the artist speaking. Constructs and influences that form our existence in contemporary society, shape and bind our lives. We appear to have choice; however this is often informed and made within influences without our notice. This influence may cause us to pass over possibilities that could exist if we chose them, but that do not because we ignore them as options. Our usual behaviour and habits leave no space for considering the different, for listening, interrupting and changing what we expect to see, and hear. We often hear, but do not listen to opinions and information which is considered crucial in the realm of sustainability. This is paramount in terms of the natural world and its resources, and the global population but is interconnected with and extends to areas such as equality, and the perception and actuality of the role and influence of women in society today
